Building workplaces where people and business thrive together

I partner with small business employers to shape the kind of workplaces where people genuinely thrive, and where that investment in people translates directly into business performance.

    More Than HR Support

I do more than solve people problems. I partner with small business employers to shape the kind of workplaces where people genuinely thrive, and where that investment in people translates directly into business performance.

  • Modern living room with a beige sofa and chairs, a coffee table with decorative vases, a textured cream rug, and an open balcony with outdoor seating and greenery.

Our Difference is in the Conversation

Our belief is that every workplace challenge stems from a piece of communication that wasn’t had or wasn’t effective. That’s where my signature approach was born - every solution I design is wrapped in clear communication support that ensures it is understood, embraced and brought to life.

  • A bedroom with a neatly made bed, featuring a white textured blanket and multiple pillows in soft pastel shades and patterns. There are two matching wooden nightstands with lamps, a small plant on one, and a large framed abstract botanical painting above the bed. Cream-colored curtains cover the window to the right.

    Sharing the Load

When you’re focused on running your business, people and employment matters can easily fall to the bottom of your To Do List – not because they don’t matter, but because there’s only so much you can hold at any given time. That’s exactly where we come in. We share that load with you so your people get the attention they deserve and you find the space to focus on what you do best.

My Story

Leanne Hasting

Some of my earliest memories are of sitting around our dining table as a child, listening to my parents navigate the challenges of running a small business. Even then, I understood that behind every business decision was a person carrying a significant load.

That understanding never left me.

After completing a Bachelor of Management (Human Resource Management) and spending more than 15 years in people management roles across industries as diverse as allied health, agriculture and professional services, I built Sage & Cedar HR (formerly Leanna J Consulting) to do one thing – to carry that load together.

It was during COVID while watching business owners fight to keep their doors open that my commitment to supporting small business owners and their teams deepened. It was abundantly clear that employers needed more than just advice on how to support their people through those challenging times, they needed a genuine partner.

That’s what Sage & Cedar HR exists to be.

While the challenges of COVID are behind us, the difficulty of building and maintaining an engaged and impactful team continue. My commitment to ensuring no employer has to navigate those challenges alone remains at the heart of everything I do.
